The latest version of MASA Group’s automated wargame solution for training or decision-support, MASA SWORD, will be unveiled at ITEC 2015. The company’s reputation for providing cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based technology is further boosted by new customers in both the defense and the civil security sector.
With customers in 15 countries around the world, SWORD is rightly recognized as the world’s leading wargame with automated forces. The company has recently taken this capability a step further with the release of SWORD version 6.0. The range of new features included in this latest version is the result of a strong internal Research and Development effort that has been driven by a particularly close relationship with MASA’s growing customer base. SWORD v6 will be showcased for the first time at the ITEC exhibition and conference in Prague from 28-30 April 2015.
The introduction of SWORD v6.0 brings MASA’s customers a range of significant enhancements. SWORD provides users with a training or analysis system that has a direct influence on combat outcomes dedicated to delivering the most realistic constructive simulation solution for both training and decision-support applications (through strong interoperability with Command and Control – C2 systems).
Some of the enhancements in SWORD V6.0 include: a multiple-view Graphical User Interface (GUI) and advanced After Action Review (AAR) capabilities, both of which enable an improved efficiency of the system to reduce operator training time and workload.
Additions to SWORD’s capability profile include:
– multiple sub-views, allowing the user to create as many views of a simulated scenario as they wish and to display them simultaneously.
– AAR capability which has been enhanced with an editing tool, meaning a recorded simulated scenario can be now edited by selecting sequences of interest to create a more focused representation of the exercise.
– SWORD’s timeline has also been upgraded with new features, including additional filters, and new types of events.
MASA will also use ITEC to introduce SYNERGY, a version of SWORD that has been customized for the emergency management and crisis preparedness markets. This follows highly positive functional and technical customer feedback from multiple industries. Since the first release of SYNERGY late 2014, the product has already been adopted and deployed by IECISA, a large international IT systems company headquartered in Spain with presence in Europe and Latin America. Commissioned to provide the Integrated Command and Control Center for the Public Security Secretariat of the state of Bahia just prior to the World Cup, the IECISA is using SYNERGY in conjunction with its own operational system to stimulate and train the decision makers in an emergency crisis cell exercise. The integration of those systems will also support the evaluation, definition and review of emergency plans and operational methods. The solution comprises SYNERGY and two products developed and delivered by LMI International, MASA’s reseller in South America.
“With continuing pressure on defense budgets and new training and operational challenges to be met, an increasing number of armed forces around the world are turning to more cost-effective training & real-time decision-support solutions” said Juan-Pablo Torres, MASA’s President and CEO. “MASA is determined to remain at the forefront of the simulation industry by developing increasingly innovative and intuitive solutions to address new challenges and support our customer base as it expands around the world, across defense, security, emergency management and related industries”.
